Refund & Returns Policy

1. 14-Day Cooling-Off Period

Under the EU Consumer Rights Directive, you have the right to cancel your subscription within 14 days of your first delivery, without giving a reason. To exercise this right, contact us at hello@monthlyreads.com with your account details. We will issue a full refund within 14 days of receiving your cancellation request.

2. How to Request a Refund

To request a refund, please:

  1. Email us at hello@monthlyreads.com with the subject line "Refund Request".
  2. Include your name, email address associated with your account, and the reason for your request.
  3. We will respond within 3 working days to confirm next steps.

Refunds are processed to your original payment method via Stripe. Please allow 5–10 working days for the refund to appear on your statement.

3. Condition for Returns

If you wish to return a book as part of a cooling-off cancellation, the book should be in the same condition as when you received it. We understand that books may be opened and briefly read — this does not affect your right to return. Please package the book securely to prevent damage in transit.

4. Family Plan Book Swaps

Family Plan subscribers may swap 1 book per delivery if it doesn't suit a family member's taste. To arrange a swap, email us within 7 days of receiving your delivery. We will send a replacement book at no extra cost. Swap requests are limited to one book per delivery cycle.

5. Damaged Books

While we quality-check every book before dispatch, accidents can happen during delivery. If you receive a book that is significantly damaged (torn pages, water damage, broken spine), please contact us within 7 days of delivery with a photo of the damage. We will send a replacement at no cost to you.

6. Cancellation After the Cooling-Off Period

After the 14-day cooling-off period, you may still cancel your subscription at any time from your account dashboard. Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period. We do not offer partial refunds for the remaining days of a billing cycle. See our Terms & Conditions for full cancellation details.
